Food!

We've decided to add a food page at the request of my sister Angel. With a Mother and Grandmother who are amazing cooks; days of cooking, canning and the smell of fresh baked bread are some of our fondest childhood memories. When my Mom and I get together we still talk non-stop about what we'll cook for breakfast, dinner and desserts. Planning and cooking are real events and everytime she visits I know that by the end of the week I'll be back into my fat jeans.

They really know how to bake! We visit the local panaderia every couple of days.

Pasta with fresh peppers, hard to find good italian sausage though. Yeah, its rough.

Alora makes a fresh fruit breakfast most mornings while Mom is sleeping and I'm nursing a coffee.

Italian in Puerto

I have way more pics but have to upload off the boat where its not so slow!
The kids wanted pizza so we wandered down the marina boardwalk to Carpaccio's wine bar. We weren't sure what to expect from an Italian restaurant in Mexico but the proprieter Vito met us at the front gate and assured us that we would not be dissapointed, and he delivered. Vito is originally from Italy and spent time living in Winnipeg and Vancouver before settling in Puerto Vallarta twelve years ago.
The kids had classic thin crust pizza and Susan and I split a plate of fresh made pasta carbonara. The pizza was great but the pasta blew me away. My mouth wouldn't stop watering through the entire meal. Vito and his staff were great hosts; they kept our wine glasses full and made sure the kids and dogs were well taken care of as well. All five us us ate, Susan and I had wine, and we left with unfinished pizza for less than 500 pesos with tip! Thats about $39 for a meal that would have cost over $100 at home. We're in a hurry to get out of PV, but I'm going to miss Carpaccio's
Susans favorite part of the meal
Morgon sees something he likes better than the pizza!
